Apex Trader Funding 2.0: Program Modifications December 2022
The Apex Trader funding program has been revamped as of November 28, 2022. Consequently, the following changes apply to both new and existing Apex accounts. We have a very positive feeling about the updates that are taking place and believe it was about time they happened. So without further delay, let’s dive into the details:
Update of Payment Options for Apex Trader Funding
As of December 15, 2022, Apex Trader Funding now offers several different payment options for all new PA accounts. Traders will now have the choice between a monthly payment or a one-time payment. These payment options are available for new accounts and are per account. This means if you have multiple accounts, you can choose to pay in full for some and pay monthly for others. Pre-existing accounts cannot avail of this option.
Updates to Evaluation Rules
7-Day Evaluations
Apex Trader Funding has changed the funding timeline for traders from 10 to 7 days. Yes, it’s a big deal and it improves their overall score with us. To top it off, these rule changes also apply to existing accounts. This means if you are currently trading, have reached your profit target, and have traded for seven days, you have completed your mission and can now get a PA account.
Receive 100% of the First $25,000 Payout
This change is not insignificant either. Traders will receive 100% of the first $25,000 paid out to them without having to share it with Apex Trader Funding. Many firms claim to let their traders keep the first lump sum of money 100% to themselves; however, it should be noted that this is per trader.
If you have multiple accounts funded by these firms, you will have to start sharing profits once you reach this amount in total across all accounts. However, Apex Trader Funding will pay you the first $25,000 at 100% for each funded account with them. So, if you have four accounts and all reach a profitability of $25,000, Apex will pay you $100,000 without asking for a cut. Apex’s policy states that you can have up to 20 PA accounts at a time, so you can do the math.
Like the seven-day evaluation, the firm also allows existing accounts to benefit from the same treatment as new accounts. So, if you are currently working on a PA account prior to the start of Black Friday sales, you will also be able to keep 100% of your first $25,000.
PA Payments for 10 Days
Another major change. Before this update, Apex Trader Funding required at least 10 days of trading under the belt to request the first payment. After the December update, Apex allows funded traders to request payments after just ten days of trading. You will also need 10 days between payment requests. This rule change also applies to existing accounts.
2 Payments Per Month
Payments can now be made twice a month. And with the 10-day trading period required between payments, you can request two payments per month. Here’s how it works:
- You meet the conditions to open a PA account
- You trade on the PA account for at least 10 days (if you have already made a request, you must respect a 10-day interval between two requests)
- You reach a minimum balance to request a withdrawal
- You submit a request
- Apex receives the request
- Apex reviews the request
- Apex approves the request
- You receive the payment
The schedule for payment requests is as follows:
- You make a request between the 1st and 5th of the month => Payment is issued on the 15th.
- You make a request between the 15th and 20th of the month => Payment is issued on the last day of the month.

Useful Information on Apex Trader Funding
Account Sizes at Apex Trader:
25k to 300k represents the starting balance in your live simulated trading data environment. This amount roughly corresponds to the amount of funds you would need in your online brokerage account to cover the initial margin for the maximum position size available in the program. You have the opportunity to turn a small amount into a highly leveraged real trading account.
Contracts:
The maximum position size or number of futures contracts you can have traded on your trading review account. You are not required to trade all the contracts at once; you can trade just one at a time. And if market conditions get too crazy, you can now trade micro-contracts as well (for example, MES/MNQ are 1/10th the size of ES/NQ). A maximum number of micro-futures contracts is indicated next to the full contract size.
Profit Target:
Pretty straightforward, reach the profit target, and as soon as you place a trade over ten different trading days and have a funded account balance higher than the starting balance + profit target, you will move to the funded money account to trade with real profit.
Daily Losses:
NONE! There are no daily drawdowns. Competitors make you adhere to a daily and sometimes weekly drawdown. With Apex trader funding, you have all the room you need to trade with just one drawdown or trailing threshold.
Trailing Threshold:
or maximum allowed drawdown for the trading review account. The drawdown is the dollar $ that follows your highest reached balance. For example, suppose you have a 7.5k drawdown on a 300k account. Initially, the balance cannot go below 292.5K. As you make profits, the drawdown decreases. If the balance reaches 303K, the drawdown level you can reach becomes 295.5k.
Minimum Number of Trading Days:
You can meet the requirements with a minimum of ten days of activity. Trading days are defined as trading hours from 6 PM one day to 5 PM the next day. Half-holiday days count for the next day.
Trailing Threshold:
With our live trailing threshold, you don’t have to worry about daily drawdown. Instead, you can visualize it in real-time using our trading software.
Trade any day, 23 hours a day: Trades can be made on holidays or during news between 6:59 AM ET and 4:59 PM ET. Orders must be closed before 4:59 PM Eastern Time.
Maximum Position Size:
You can trade up to the maximum position size. You will not be prohibited from trading additional contracts in funded or evaluation accounts.
Trading During News:
Trading your daily system during news announcements will not cause you to fail! Unfortunately, news trading strategies, including multi-directional and directional news entries, are not allowed to generate profits.

Scaling:
